Alex Mistretta graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a BS in Psychology and a BS in Anthropology. While at school he conducted two independent studies and wrote two papers on Voodoo and Zombis in Haiti and the pharmaceutical aspect of the Zombi powder. Following his studies he moved back to his hometown of Los Angeles where he became the Director of Investigations for MUFON Los Angeles. A post he held for over 10 years. During that time he investigated hundreds of UFO sightings for MUFON and on his own.
Following his time at MUFON Alex joined UPARS where he took part in the Skinwalker Ranch investigation in 2013, and the 2016 Southern Washington Bigfoot expedition that brought back evidence in the form of tracks.
Alex has also been involved in ghost and parapsychology research for many years. He investigated his first case in London at age 12 and currently works with Dr Barry Taff on poltergeist cases. He was also the investigator that took the famous “ghost” picture the “Girl that Wasn’t There” in Brittany, France.
Alex was also a member of Big Cats in Britain and investigated reports of anomalous big cats in the United States. Alex was the co-writer of “La Quete du Mokele” , an unproduced documentary on the search for Mokele-mbembe, the dinosaur of the Congo.
Alex is the author of “The Presence, an exploration into the Paranormal” . He also broke the UFO story of 2015 with The Trepang Arctic UFO case, and is preparing another book on potential prehistoric survivors in the world today, and maybe a secret UFO book he won’t tell anybody about.
He has been featured in television shows Legend Hunters, UFO Files, among others, and has been a guest on numerous radio show including Fade to Black with Jimmy Church, Beyond the Strange and Coast to Coast.
In his spare time Alex is an expert skier, played Beach Volleyball on the MVP pro tour, and competed nationally and internationally in Fencing. He offers no apology for his love of Ninja movies, CW superhero shows, and the band Genesis.
